The Chief Executive Officer of the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC), Mr. Paul Kwengwere, presented on the Investment opportunities that are available in Malawi at one of the sessions of the 7th SADC Industrialization week which took place from 28th July to 2nd August 2024. Mr. Kwengwere was accompanied by exhibitors from Malawi, who displayed a variety of products from the warm heart of Africa. |

UN Gastronomy Forum |
The UN Gastronomy Forum was held at the Elephant Hills, Victoria Falls from 26th-28th July 2024. The event was sponsored by the United Nations as one way of promoting traditional foods across Africa. The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Vera Kamtukule was among the panelist at the forum. Hon. Vera Kamtukule led a delegation from her Ministry and also, brought Senior Chefs from top hotels in Malawi to be part of the discussions that were on the programme. |

PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO ZIMBABWE FOR THE SADC SUMMIT |
The President of the Republic of Malawi arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe on 15th August 2024 to attend the 44th Summit meeting of the SADC countries. The summit was held at the New Parliament in Mount Hampden, Harare. Zimbabweans of Malawian origin welcomed the president with Malawian Traditional Dances including Chimtali and Gule wa Mkulu. His Excellency, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, had a special meeting with these Malawians. Key things discussed at the meeting were remote voting for Malawians living in Zimbabwe and Pensions for those who receive through the Government of Malawi. His Excellency, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera told the crowd of his fruitful discussion with his Brother, His Excellency, Dr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa on various key issues affecting the two countries. He advised all to be patient and responsible people in the country of residence. He reminded them the significance of praying for the country one is living in regardless of their origin because the prosperity of the country of residence would trickle down to them. The president departed from Zimbabwe via Robert Mugabe International Airport on 18th August to the Vatican where he had other business. |

Ambassador H.E. Polepole visited the Chtungwiza Arts Centre | ||
Ambassador H. E. Polepole visited the Chitungwiza Arts Centre where he was briefed on some of the activities being conducted by some members of the African Union Disability Council. The Council would like to extend the knowledge and skill to their Malawian friends. Miss Florence Mudzingwa is a Motivational Speaker, Counsellor and writer who spends her time encouraging other disabled people. She called on the Ambassador of Malawi and gave him a copy of her book. | ||
